Our Los Angeles acupuncture clinic offers personalized alternative medicine services selected to help each patient  access the potential of their physical and mental wellbeing. Rather than merely alleviating symptoms, we set out to discover root causes and deliver long-term solutions. Modalities such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine nourish and support the healing power of the body, putting our clients back on the road to optimal health.

Acupuncture

Our licensed acupuncturists use the safe and effective technique of acupuncture to help restore and maintain optimal function of the systems of the body, treating a variety of medical conditions and promoting wellbeing.

Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body that correspond to bodily systems that need support and strengthening. The needles sit less than an inch underneath the skin. You may feel brief pain as the needles are being inserted, but once they are in place, most people find that they can’t feel them at all.

Acupuncture can improve and speed the healing of injuries and regulate the digestive, immune, and nervous systems. It is useful in treating many illnesses and chronic pain, including fatigue, headaches, stress, insomnia, IBS, colitis, dermatological problems, allergies, infertility, menopausal symptoms, and general malaise. Bottom line: if you don’t feel well, acupuncture can help.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Our acupuncturists are also licensed practitioners of Chinese herbal medicine. We take care in personalizing each herbal formula for the individual, basing the formulation on the client’s specific condition.

Herbal medicine is a branch of natural medicine that has been used for centuries to aid and restore body function. Formulae are created from pharmacopeia that include hundreds of plant and mineral substances. Medicinal herbs are consumed in the form of teas, capsules, pills or liquid extracts. Every herb we use is tested by independent third parties to ensure maximum safety and efficacy. Herbs are usually prescribed in conjunction with other treatments to take advantage of their cumulative effects.

Therapeutic Bodywork

Therapeutic bodywork is a type of health care using physical modalities. For patients with pain or injuries, these techniques are complementary therapies to acupuncture and/or herbal medicine and may be incorporated to achieve maximum benefit of treatment.

Massage Therapy

Methods like deep tissue and shiatsu massage help improve circulation, nourish, relax, alleviate pain and rejuvenate.

Cupping

While massage therapy compresses soft tissue by applying pressure, cupping decompresses soft tissue using vacuum suction. Oil is applied to the skin, then vacuum pressure in the cup draws the tissue inside to increase blood circulation, detoxify, and relieve tight muscles.

Moxibustion

An application of targeted heat comes from burning pure artemisia mugwort herb that has been compressed into a stick. We hold the smoldering stick above the skin to stimulate acupuncture points and encourage blood flow and energy flow — it helps anything that feels “stuck” become unstuck.
